Membership Categories

1. ACTIVE VOTING MEMBERSHIP – A Voting Member is eligible for print competition including all awards relating to print competition and all levels of the Northern Fellowship Degree. The individual must be available for photography assignments on a regular basis. There must be at least one ACTIVE VOTING member from each studio. Active Voting members are authorized to display the Association’s emblem in their studio and use the emblem in their advertisements. Active Voting Members are subject to applicable annual dues and meeting fees as set by the Board of Directors.
2. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP – Limited to all associates of the Active Voting Member’s studio. The Associate does not have voting privileges in the Association. The Associate member is eligible for print competition including all awards relating to print competition and all levels of the Northern Fellowship Degree. Associate Members are subject to applicable annual dues and meeting fees as set by the Board of Directors.
3. OUT-OF-AREA MEMBERSHIP – Non-voting status. Out-of-Area membership is limited to photographers who live outside the geographical boundaries detailed in Article XV. Out-of-Area member is eligible for print competition including all awards relating to print competition and all levels of the Northern Fellowship Degree. Out-of-Area member is authorized to display the Association’s emblem in their studio and use the emblem in their advertisements. Out-of-Area members are subject to applicable annual dues and meeting fees as set by the Board of Directors.
4. SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP – Non-voting status, is available to any employee, officer, or head of a corporation or representative of firm engaged in the supply of materials, or services or equipment used in the field of photography. The Sustaining member is eligible to participate in print competition as stipulated within the Print Competition Rules of the Association and the Service Degree of the Northern Fellowship Degree. Sustaining Members are authorized to display the Association’s emblem in their business and use the emblem in their advertisements. Sustaining Members are subject to applicable annual dues and meeting fees as set by the Board of Directors.
5. LIFE MEMBERSHIP- Non-Voting status. Active Voting Members may be awarded an honorary LIFE membership for great service to professional photography. The member being considered for LIFE membership must have held membership in this Association for at least 25 years, and no longer be actively engaged in the photography business. Forced retirement due to health accident etc, earlier than 25 years will be at the discretion of the Board after consideration of service / attendance to the Association. The honor of Life Membership carries the following stipulations:
   1. There will be no membership dues.
   2. Retired member will receive the Association newsletter.
